To solve this problem, They decided to start a platform on their own that would make it easy for researchers to recruit panel participants from all over the world and a way for participants to get paid for contributing efficiently.
Prolific is now a crowdsourcing platform for researchers and people who want to give feedback, help research, and get paid simultaneously.
Who is Prolific Survey For
The prolific Survey is based in Great Britton, but anybody in the United States and 30 countries, including Canada and Australia, can become a member. You must be at least 18+ years old.
How does Prolific Survey Work
After you sign up as a participant, you will get access to researchers who will post their studies or tasks on the website. You can take part in the available studies and get paid for them. Signing up is free.
You can participate in any study that is made available to you. It will give you a description of what the study is about, how much it pays, and the average completion time – so you can decide before selecting it if you can dedicate the time to it.
After accepting a study you can no longer complete, you can choose to return the study and delete the submission without consequence.
The Prolific Score is marked out of 100. But your score can go down if you make mistakes, so you must stay focused on your project,
The higher your Prolific Score, the more studies you will receive. You can participate in as many studies that are made available to you.
It would be wise to check the site as often as possible, as the studies tend to fill up very quickly – they each have a certain amount of spots available.
From time to time, they will send out email alerts for a new study, but this is not done regularly, so it’s best to check for yourself.
How will you be rewarded?
Processing your payment can take up to five working days; sometimes, it can be faster, depending on if there is a high volume of payments to process. Make sure to enter your PayPal email address correctly.
On their website, they are promising a rate of $6.50 US per hour which is very good but remember, a survey may take 10 minutes to complete, and there is no assurance of how many surveys you will get or be qualified for.

Once you’ve completed a study, it has to be reviewed by the researcher and approved before getting credited to your account.
This usually takes a few days. It can also take longer, up to a maximum of 22 days. After 22 days, all studies are automatically approved by Prolific if the researcher has taken no action.
When Will you be Rewarded
Prolific run payment runs twice a week, on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.
You can now only cash out using PayPal on Prolific. There is a minimum payment threshold of £5.or $6.50. Once you’ve hit the threshold, you’ll need to link your PayPal account
My Thoughts
Prolific is one of the better survey sites, and it looks pretty transparent; there are no red flags that I can see. Here are some of the things I like about Prolific
- Prolific is an easy-to-use platform on desktops, tablets, or mobile devices.
- The topics are interesting.
- You can earn real money for completing surveys rather than accumulating points or rewards.
- With a cash-out threshold of approximately $6, you can work just one hour if you have the number of surveys and do not have to wait to receive a payment.
- Once you fill in your profile info, there are no more screenings; you are invited to the Survey and will be paid.
Prolific is a legitimate site; if you want to make a little money and have the time, I recommend this site, and you will not be bored.

I wish I could give them 10. stars! I have joined many survey groups over the years; this one is TOPS!! Their surveys are exciting, and they pay well. The estimated time for each Survey is accurate, and payouts are perfect. I have never had any problems with this site and HIGHLY recommend them! Other survey sites could learn a lot from Prolific. They are top-notch!!
I have been with Prolific for just over Ace site.
I have been with Prolific for over 2. years, cashed out over £700, and always found them fair and approachable.
The surveys are probably one of the highest paying around. I did 2. a couple of days ago for £7.50 and £6 not bad all in all great site.
