How to overcome financial stress.
Retirement should be an exciting time in your life, but the fact is it can also be a financially draining time in our lives, especially when it comes to the cost of healthcare.
It is a known fact the older we get the greater the possibility that we will become sick with some health issues that can be horrific both in health and cost
It would be a good idea, therefore, to start saving towards these unknown expenses earlier on in life, but unfortunately this is not done for different reasons, either we are living from paycheck to paycheck and cannot afford to save anything or there are other things going on in the family that takes first priority and so saving never gets done.
And some times we are banking on Medicare to take care of our medical expenses not knowing that Medicare will only pay for some of the basic medical expenses.
According to health line.com, these things are not covered the
What’s not covered
While Medicare covers a wide range of care, not everything is covered. Most dental care, eye exams, hearing aids, acupuncture, and any cosmetic surgeries are not covered by Medicare Parts A and B.
Medicare Part A covers
Medicare Part A covers hospital inpatient costs. However, just because you visit a hospital doesn’t mean that you’re an inpatient. An overnight stay doesn’t mean you’re an inpatient either.
- You’re an inpatient when you’re formally admitted to a hospital with a doctor’s order.
- You’re an outpatient if you receive any type of hospital services without being formally admitted to a hospital with a doctor’s order. This may include emergency services, outpatient surgery, lab tests, and X-rays. In these cases, you’re an outpatient even if you stay overnight at the hospital.
Part B covers
Part B covers a wide range of tests and services, including:
- screening for cancer, depression, and diabetes
- ambulance and emergency department services
- influenza and hepatitis vaccinations
- electrocardiograms (ECGs)
- medical equipment
- some drugs, diabetes supplies, and some prescriptions for eyewear
Long-term care is also not covered by Medicare. If you think you or a loved one will need long-term care, consider separate long-term care (LTC) insurance policy.
And they think that medical expense could cost up to $240,000 during your senior years, and they suggest a special saving account for that day.
Now if you are an earlier boomer like myself that means you were born in the years from 1946-1957 I think for us to start savings account now in order to save $240,000.00 would be a near impossible feat.
Near impossible but not impossible. There are some things you can do, you can make a budget, and you can also get all your debt consolidated by debt counseling companies like in everything check out the companies thoroughly as some are looking to rob you in fees. My suggestion is to go with a not for profit company.
Then you can get a side hustle if you are somebody who likes art you can make things and sell online, with everything being done online these days I think doing business online is the way to go

When you are faced with financial stress, it can definitely affect every area of your life. If you have financial crises, you will experience some difficulty concentrating on your daily task, demands of the workplace, focusing on your relationships and so on. It can also affect your health like depression, which can cause your blood pressure to rise.
It is better to avoid financial stress at all cost and the way to do that is to prepare, no one knows what the real amount of savings is needed in retirement, every financial institution has a different amount.
I think the best way to prepare is to have your own way of making money, and affiliate marketing is the best way of making money online.
And with affiliate marketing it is not hard it does not cost a lot of money to start, you do not need a brick and mortar building, no inventory, no dealing with customers.
The only cons about affiliate marketing are it takes time, success will not happen overnight, it takes time to build trust and an audience, like every business you need to put in the effort, work, patience.
